I am a huge advocate of accelerated debt elimination plans (ADEP).Understanding that we are a credit driven society and one needs the ability use credit for purchases from time to time whether it’s to buy a house, car or purchase that 60” plasma television. I believe ever consumer that has a mortgage or uses a credit card or has any type of credit should implement and utilize an ADEP for money management. How moneylogic’s ADEP eliminates debt
You set up your budget to pay your bills biweekly instead of monthly. The reason for this is every year there are two months that have 5 weeks, so an extra payment will made during those months which generates an extra payment each year. So, if your bills total X per month, this will create an extra X twice each year.
v Example: If your bills are $2,500, of which $1,450 is your Mortgage, $450 is your car, and let’s say you have 2 credit cards that are $300 each. Your ADEP system will pay all of your bills on time and when the extra money becomes available, the system will pay the $1,250 twice each year on the highest interest loan which is usually a credit card, until it’s paid in full. Once the first credit card is paid off, it will take the extra $300 from that card, and apply it to the 2nd credit card, plus the extra $1,250 that’s available twice each year, until the 2nd credit card is paid in full. After the second card is paid off, the system will take the extra $600 a month (the two credit cards that are paid off @ $300 each) plus the $1,250 twice each year, and the total will be paid on your car until it’s paid in full From this point forward every year, the system will take the extra $1,050 each month ($600 from the two credit cards, and $450 from the car) plus the $1250 twice each year and pay your mortgage until the balance is zero.
